Overview
Living Ways Foundation is pleased to welcome gardening expert Carson Arthur, of Carson’s Garden and Market in Bloomfield, for a one-hour talk on the role vegetable gardening plays in community food security.
With grocery costs continuing to climb, more families are struggling to access fresh, nutritious food. Carson will look at what’s driving those pressures, from shifts in Canadian agriculture to a changing climate, and show how home and community gardens can help close the gap by lowering household costs, increasing local food availability, and building neighbour-to-neighbour support. You’ll leave with practical tips for starting or expanding a vegetable garden and a clearer sense of how growing food at home strengthens the whole community.
Join us on September 22nd to learn, connect, and be part of a growing movement toward a more sustainable and food-secure community!
Over the last 25 years, Carson Arthur has taught homeowners how to raise their homes’ value through outdoor renovations while maintaining a focus on environmentally friendly choices. In 2019, Carson opened his namesake market in Prince Edward County. With a focus on growing food, organic principles, and products that make gardening accessible to everyone. Carson’s Garden + Market has quickly become a destination for discerning gardeners.
Your host is Leslie Fell, Founder and Chair of Living Ways Foundation.
